This year has been crazy. Yes, with current situation going on but it has been so much busier because we ended up following the housing market. With interest rates so low and homes popping up and moving fast we decided to move into a nice location with a home that needed some work. It has taught me so many different lessons and I have decided that Youtube Premium was the best investment of the year due to all the home fixes and tutorials I have used over the year. So with all the work that has been done I have discovered that there are so many things that are needed to work on a home and to be able to not be hindered and running off to a store every other weekend. So I want to go over a few strange things I learned and that kept me from being in trouble or wasting gas money and time running to the store each week or 4 times a day. First and foremost the need for packing tape and duct tape are paramount. I have used these two items over and over for quick fixes and long fixes. I remember painting the exterior of the house and multiple times the height of our house was an issue. We had extendable poles but some times we needed to get a fine brush in some crazy areas. Up on top of 20-foot ladders with 20-foot extendable poles there would be a paintbrush duct tapes and packing taped to the end. Yes, it looks insane when you see it but it certainly worked. It was much better than paying 59 dollars for the correct tool when 5 minutes and some duct tape with a bit of that good packing tape saved the day. So I highly suggest purchasing a big supply of packaging supplies to keep your house covered. I also suggest going to a packaging supplies store to go and get it. The cost of these two types of tapes and well boxes and bags are simply cheaper at these stores. Buying these at your local hardware store is not the only game in town or getting it off Amazon. There are cheaper options and I think buying from the main company and not a middleman or the third middleman is the better way to save money. So stock up on half a dozen or a dozen rolls of each of these because you will need them. Now another tape that saved my home and I mean home was teflon tape. This is actually a plumber tape and my father told me about it and got me a roll for doing plumbing work. If you ever get a leak this is a super thin tape that goes on the threads to make sure the threads on older pipes or just not well-cut pipes don't leak. Our refrigerator had a thread issue and the water supply from the well was direct and never able to be shut off. So this was the most important thread in the home. It was leaking and luckily my Dad had given me the tape needed. It is worthwhile to have these supplies on hand. They are great for keeping your home safe and from having you make extra trips to the store to fix a problem.
